Abstract	The purpose of the study is to collect personally and from first hand sources the folkloric materials in the barrios of Rosario and Maybunga, Pasig, Rizal, and thereby preserve them for the future.. It also aims to make an inquiry into the materials so collected as to their nature, possible origin and utility in the light of the psychology and philosophy of the the people which nurtured them. It also seeks to bring to light that portion of Filipino folklore found in the said barrios and show by its nature and characteristics, the beginnings of Tagalog literature through the study of a representative cross section of the Tagalog region. A study of folklore of the Filipinos will give an idea not only of the beginning of real native literature but also of the inherent psychology of the people.
