The objectives of the study were to identify the Ibanags' dominant patterns of beliefs and values reflected in their words used as linguistic signs in their proverbs and songs and to determine the justifications and clarifications for having such beliefs and values. A total of one hundred twenty seven (127) Ibanag proverbs and one hundred seven (107) songs served as the primary instruments. The study employed the descriptive, quantitative and analytical research design. The techniques used were: Malinowski's theory of context of situation and Cruse's contextual approach to word meaning to obtain the meanings of the words used as linguistic signs that reflect or reveal the Ibanag concepts or ideas towards the nine categories. The findings provide that the fifteen (15) Ibanags' notions of God are on a Christian Catholic form.
