The rationale of this study is to find out and gauge the religious influences on Philippine sculpture during the Spanish period. Analysis and evaluation of the religious factors that influenced Philippine sculptures has been made, synthesized and supplemented with photos of the most important images mentioned in the study. A specific conclusion emrging from this study is the fact that Catholic religion was a strong driving force that influenced Philippine sculpture during the Spanish Period. This powerful force originated in the pre-Hispanic religious beliefs and intensified during the time of Christianization, the Spanish Colonial Period. There is enough reason to believe, that many samples of Philippine sculpture for home use, for public use and architectural sculpture were suited to present a doctrine of faith and to bring people to a profession thereof for they conveyed a deep message and religious truth.
