Employee Retention is a growing concern for most companies across all industries and geographical location. Call Center companies in Makati City, Philippines are no exception. The rapid influx of business players in this so-called "Sunshine Industry," which is expected to generate thousands of new jobs in the next few years is being confronted with the problem of labor shortage of skilled Call Center workers. This somehow led to the prevalence of talent poaching or raiding among Call Center companies at present. The need to hold on to precious talents is evident in order for these companies to prosper and rise above others in the field. Thus, an examination of what these companies do to retain talents and how their HRM practices affect employee retention is crucial at the moment. It is for this reason that this study was conducted. Four Call Center companies in Makati City were successfully recruited to take part in the study. All of them have been in the business for more than one year. The individual respondents have likewise been in their respective organizations for a year or so. The findings of this study can provide guidepost to the participating companies, as well as to HR practitioners on how to hold on to their valuable talents and deal with the issue of talent poaching and raiding.
