The main intent of this study is to investigate the status of national language in the school system of Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and the Philippines. Consequently, to determine the reasonable implications that can be applied to the context of Philippine education. The educational systems and curricula of each of the four Asian countries were surveyed to know the status of their national language. Unlike the other three Asian countries, Philippines makes least use of the National Language in its school system. The governments of Indonesia, Malaysia and Pakistan were actively involved in the development and propagation of their own National Language in stark contrast with the Philippines that is indifferent if not actually against the use of the National Language in its school system and government functions.
