The profile, teaching preformance, and problems of the intermediate teachers in the Division of City Schools, Quezon City : implication for teacher development programs
The study attempted to examine and analyze the profile, teaching performance, and problems of the intermediate teachers in the Division of City Schools, Quezon City with the aim of determining their implications for teacher development programs. The reserch employed the descriptive method using the survey technique in gathering data. In addition, unstructured interviews and observation of teachers, principals and supervisors were conducted. The target population consisting of 145 public elementary schools was selected by stratified sampling. Based on the findings, it was concluded that most are female teachers, married and belong to the middle age group who are degree holders and civil service eligibles. Moreover, majority of them perceived their teaching performance as Very Satisfactory. Lastly, the most pressing problems they have was on professional development, salary and fringe benefits and instructional materials while the least problem was on teacher-pupils relationships.
