This paper discusses the private educational institutions limited to the subject of administration and supervision. It aims to find ways that would make state regulations and supervision of Philippine private schools more effective; to show proper interpretation and application of constitutional provision of state regulations in regard to education; and to propose a solution to the problem of educational synthesis. Data was gathered through the use of prepared questionnaires and interviews with the officials of the Bureau of Private Schools. The paper narrates the importance of private schools in the Philippines and the reasons why private schools exist as well as its value. It also details the principles of state regulation of private educational institutions and the issue of church and state supremacy in education. In conclusion, the paper notes that the Philippine educational system is highly centralized, because the Philippines is a republican state, and the paper states a need for the private educational system in the Philippines to be decentralized, as it notes down the advantages and disadvantages of a centralized and a decentralized educational system.
