In this thesis, the writer has painstakingly endeavored to present a comprehensive study of the Philippine law on moral damages within the purview of the New Civil Code. The work has been limited to the discussions of various subjects on moral damages, with the provisions contained in Section I, entitled "Moral Damages," Chapter 3, Title XVIII of the New Civil Code, serving as convenient guide-posts. Other related subjects, such as "torts," breach of contract," and the like, have been touched upon as little as possible, and only where necessary, on the assumption that they are already well understood.
