The first Citizenship Law Act 2927 had been enacted by the Philippine Legislature during the American Regime pursuant to the authority theretofore granted and some of its provisions, or its principles in general had been undoubtedly patterned after the Citizenship laws of the United States. For many years, the aforesaid principles have been recognized and applied with insistence to perpetuate policy which situation at present clouds and create confusion on the present laws. This study aims to comment and indicate such defects and discrepancies of doctrines which became part and parcel of the Citizenship laws.
