This study attempts to assess the operations of Venture Capital Corporations in the Philippines. Specifically, this research seeks to answer the following questions: (1) What is the profile of venture capital financing in the Philippines? (2) What factors are considered when selecting an investment or loan proposal? (3) What are the financial and investment aspects of Venture Capital Corporation operation? (4) What problems beset Venture Capital Corporations in their operations and how may these be minimized? (5) What opportunities are there in the environment for Venture Capital Corporations to exploit? and (6) How was the operation of Venture Capital Corporations contributed to the profitability of its mother bank? This study will help the countries of the Third World, who are experiencing a slowdown in capital inflow, to unfold new insight for policy guidelines which will be aimed at generating funds for investment from domestic sources either through development financing institutions or venture capital firms so as to stimulate domestic economic activities.
