The main objective of this study is to look into the developments in the Philippines and in Thailand in the area of labor standards; to compare the efforts and experience in both countries; to determine what practices in each country may be adopted in the other; and to make recommendations for the improvement in the administration of labor standards in both countries. This study covers the period from the organization of the Philippine Bureau of Labor in 1957 and Thai labor standards administration in 1932 up to the present. It is limited to the goals and objectives of the program; administrative set-up; agencies involved; establishment of labor standards programs; and problems encountered in the implementation of the programs.
