Life is the most valuable possession of man and as such the pharmaceutical industry is charged with the responsibility of saving human life. This study attempts to shed some light on the training programmes designed for men in the industry, the industry that manufactures and sells drugs used for the saving of human life and/or relieving human sufferings. Specifically, the study looked into some areas in an attempt to answer the following questions: (1) What are the objectives of training programmes in the drug industry? (2) What are the criteria considered by the companies when selecting trainees and what are the training methods commonly used? (3) What training programmes are common to the companies in the industry and how often is training conducted; for whom and by whom? (4) What problems beset the industry as regards training programmes? (5) What possible solutions may be forwarded to minimize the problems?
