Tourism denotes the temporary, short-term movement of people to destinations outside the places where they normally live and work and their activities during the stay of these destinations. Much of this movement is international in character and much of it is leisure activity. In the Philippines, as in other countries, the tourist industry provides a significant resource for economic development. They include not only the foreign exchange income but also increase to the national income, the stimulation of the trade and services and the development of a labor intensive industry. This study is concerned with aspects of tourism and international hotels in Metro Manila. It attempts to investigate the present status and the future of the Philippine tourism and international hotels.
