This study aimed to discover how the Philippine folk dances were recorded and preserved in their authentic form and disseminated to their present status of popularity. It also sought to find out the aspects of the dance which have later been affected by the loss of authenticity and to offer suggestions and recommendations to remedy the undesirable trend of loss of authenticity and further disseminate Philippine folk dances. The study involved descriptive and normative surveys. The descriptive survey was principally used in the historical study of the recording and disseminating of the Philippine folk dances, while both the normative and the descriptive surveys were used in the study on how the authenticity of the dances was affected in the process of dissemination.
