This study investigated how the government is perceived as employer in terms of nine employment characteristics, namely: job security, compensation, career advancement, social recognition, political influence, public exposure, physical working conditions, interpersonal relationships and meaningful work. Purposively selected doctors and graduating students in Medicine in the National Capital Region were the respondents of the survey. The study also investigated the importance of the said employment characteristics in making choices for employment. The study revealed that, for the doctors and graduating students in Medicine, the image of the government as employer was perceived to be favorable or positive.
