This study discusses the role of the natives of the Philippines in the conquest, colonization and repopulation of the Mariana Islands from the years 1668 to 1898. During those years of Spanish rule, native people from the Philippines went to the Mariana Islands as assistants of the Spanish missionaries, soldiers, settlers and exiles. This work discusses the achievements and effects of the people from the Philippines in the islands. It also discusses the Spanish plans on what to do with the Mariana Islands after the decline of its native population and after the independence of Spain's Latin American colonies.
