Summary	The Resguardo de las Islas Filipinas (Frontier Guard) made up of land and sea police forces were destined to defend the Aduana (customs) and institutions dealing with public funds (Rentas Estancadas). This slim volume contains the regulations with three supplements containing the plantilla from the army and the navy as well as their budget as of August 10, 1850. The Resguardo was eventually substituted by the Carabineros who stayed on until the end of the Spanish period in the Philippines. (see Retana, no. 812)
